Roland Grender's talents as a stockpicker have made some of the most successful investors in the world sit up and take notice.
After he had spent just a few weeks work experience at New Star, Richard Pease made a mental note that Grender was a 'manager to watch', and later went on to hire him at his new venture Crux Asset Management, while Mario Gabelli - a highly-regarded US investor - recruited him on the spot after Grender sent in a company research note he had written.
