Taking over from a 'star' fund manager can seem a daunting task, but for Old Mutual Global Investors' (OMGI) Tim Service it meant the first opportunity to run his own fund.
Having joined OMGI in 2007, Service (pictured) initially worked as an analyst in the small- and mid-cap team before becoming deputy manager on the Cayman-domiciled UK Specialist Equity fund, run by Ashton Bradbury, in 2011. Bradbury worked at Old Mutual for 14 of his 26 years in investment, including a period as head of UK equities, and was one of the highest-rated UK equity managers for his UK Select Mid Cap fund.
