If the fund management industry has a problem with public perception, then one of the issues it should be looking at closely is its record when it comes to gender and diversity. As a survey published by Morningstar this time last year made clear, the asset management industry globally is way behind other sectors.  Across 56 countries, the survey found only one in five funds has a female manager.
