Mark Hawtin is set to join Gam as investment director on 1 October. The group is launching a new fund for him to run. Hawtin will manage a global long / short equity mandate investing in a wide range of themes with a particular emphasis on innovation and change, to come out before the end of the year. Hawtin previously worked for Marshall Wace Asset Management where he was a partner and portfolio manager on a technology, media and telecoms hedge fund.
