Old Mutual Asset Managers (Omam) has hired John Mattimore as head of equity alpha. Mattimore joined Omam on 15 March after leaving Gartmore where he was head of risk management. He will be responsible for developing the equities business and look at fund raising strategies covering benchmark and absolute return investment capabilities. At Gartmore, he managed and developed risk trading capabilities for fund managers and reported on risk in hedge and long-only funds. He has also focused on emerging markets and derivatives whilst working at Citgroup, Bear Stearns and ING.
