Schroders is the first fund manager to be selected for London & Colonial’s Managed Open Annuity product while two other fund managers are in the process of being finalised. The Managed Open Annuity will allow investors to have their funds managed by one of the managers on a selected panel and is designed for funds between £100,000 and £250,000. Due to the looming A-day on April 6, the forthcoming pension rules are expected to end sales of annuities in their present form but it is expected that a revamped products will be launched in line with new regulations.
