Henderson Global Investors has appointed Simon Ward as its chief economist. Previously New Star's economist and strategist, Ward moved over to the enlarged group last month following the takeover. Ward previously held positions at WorldInvest, Lombard Street Research and Bank Julius Baer. He has degrees in economics and finance from Cambridge University and Birkbeck College. "The advice and experience of Simon are extremely useful to us across our business and there is no doubt Simon is a well respected economic commentator," Henderson head of UK retail Mark Skinner says.
