The Dow Jones is up 100.99 points or 1.19% to 8,575.84 in morning trading, buoyed by capital raising from banks and rising metal and oil prices. Bank of America is the morning's biggest winner so far adding 6.13% to $11.94, after selling around $13.5bn in stock to strengthen its balance sheet following last week's stress tests, while Citigroup is up 4.15% to $3.94. General Motors has also seen its shares rise after announcing it is to close 250 dealerships across Canada - shares have risen 6.29% to $1.35.
