BlackRock CIO Bob Doll is the latest high-profile investor to forecast an upswing in the US equity market. Doll said the market is now in a base-building phase and most likely completed its decline phase. “The negatives in the market are becoming more apparent, key to establishing a bottom,” he said. “Our sense is that monetary reflation may be slowly winning the battle against the deflationary pressures coming from the housing meltdown and broader credit issues.” His optimism is backed by recent rises in the main US equity indices.
