BNY figures reveal 7% reduction in UK equities sector

Balanced pooled fund holdings in UK equities plunged from 43.5% to 36.5% in 2008, latest figures from BNY Mellon Asset Servicing reveal. The performance measurement firm says the 7% reduction came despite managers moving money into this sector and was as a result of poor relative performance during this period. It says this represents a new low for this sector and was the first time UK equity weightings had been exceeded by overseas equity weightings for this universe.
