The Newcastle Building Society has seen the balances of its cash Isas increase 42% in the past 12 months. This goes against the current trend, which saw £212m withdrawn from Cash Isas in December 2008 alone. The society is citing attractive rates and the variation of products being made available as reasons for the increase.
