BlackRock Gold and General manager Graham Birch will be taking a sabbatical at the beginning of April until the end of 2009. Evy Hambro who currently manages BGF World Gold and World Mining, will take sole responsibility for the £1.4bn fund during Birch's absence. Hambro will be supported by Richard Davis manager of BlackRock's Commodities Income investment trust.
