Global funds appeal to Isa investors

Despite poor conditions, Cofunds posts 0.8% rise in Isa sales, with overseas equity mandates proving popular

Corporate bond funds dominated Cofunds platform sales during the Isa season, but the traditional end of tax-year rush has revealed a renewed investor interest in global equity vehicles. Despite continued difficult economic conditions in the first quarter of 2009, Cofunds reports Isa sales on the platform climbed 0.8% for the period between 1 March and 6 April. The £ Corporate Bond sector led net sales, with about three times the sales over the next most popular IMA classification, the new UK Equity Income & Growth.
