Gartmore seeking to mirror hedge fund success with the launch of an European absolute alpha product for Guy

Gartmore is testing market appetite for a European Absolute Return vehicle for Roger Guy, taking advantage of his long hedge fund track record. He has managed the £1.8bn European Selected Opportunities fund for over a decade and the group's AlphaGen Capella hedge product since inception in 1999. Earlier this year, Gartmore's head of global distribution Phil Wagstaff said it was inevitable Gartmore would seek to mirror the success of its hedge fund business by looking towards the absolute return space.
