Following CGNU's decision to cut the yield on its CGU PPT Monthly Income Plus fund, Aberdeen Asset Management put a 1% discount on its three fixed interest funds, run by the group's bond team headed up by Paul Reed. Applied to the Aberdeen Fixed Interest, Aberdeen High Yield Bond and Aberdeen Sterling Bond funds, the discount brought the initial charge down to 3.25%. Aberdeen also put a 1% discount on lump sum and Isa investments into its North America fund, until December 2000.
