The Investment Management Association has welcomed the FSA's latest retail distribution review paper proposals to regulate structured products.
The consultation document, entitled Distribution of retail investments: delivering the RDR, covers the products for the first time in a set of proposals including tighter qualification requirements for advisers and more transparent advice fees. Julie Patterson, IMA director of authorised funds & tax also calls for structured deposits to be brought under the RDR umbrella and warns against disproportionate restrictions on fund managers charging structures.
