Hedge fund manager Luke Newman is joining Gartmore next week to work with Ben Wallace on the company's UK Absolute Return fund. The former F&C and Deutsche Bank manager, comes from Altima Partners LLP and starts on Monday. He will also help run Gartmore's AlphaGen Octanis hedge fund. Gartmore CIO Dominic Rossi says: "Luke completes a list of six recent investment hires, all of whom will accelerate our organic growth."
