In London, markets climbed in early trade as insurers recovered from major losses on Wednesday. The FTSE 100 added 16.26 points (0.39%) to 4,156.49 by 8.20am.

The insurer's shares were hit yesterday after Bank of America downgraded its outlook for the firm. Aviva shares also climbed, up 0.33% to 304p. Its shares fell yesterday after rumours it would cut dividends. Tullow Oil shares continue to fall after oil prices fell for their sixth consecutive day. The shares dipped 2.32% to 843.5p. Wall Street trading was slow on Wednesday as investors await half-yearly reports in the coming weeks. ...
