John Flint has been appointed as chief executive of HSBC Global Asset Management.
Currently serving as HSBC group treasurer and deputy head of global markets, Flint also heads up global markets for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Effective from January 2010, Flint will replace Mark McCombe, who will take up a new role as chief executive of HSBC Hong Kong. Since joining HSBC in 1989, Flint has spent 14 years in Asia establishing and expanding the HSBC Global Markets business in the region before moving back to Europe.
