Gartmore appoints new head of dealing

Gartmore has appointed Brian Mitchell as head of dealing, reporting to CIO Dominic Rossi.

It is anticipated Mitchell, who joins from Barings Asset Management where he was head of dealing for 11 years, will join the firm in mid January 2010. Mitchell will be responsible for overseeing all dealing activities including equities, derivatives, fixed income and FX - in London, Tokyo and Boston. "We are delighted that Brian has chosen to join Gartmore," Rossi says. "He brings a wealth of dealing experience and a vast knowledge of regulatory issues, which are particularly relevant in light of industry developments such as MiFID."
