HSBC Infrastructure to undertake share issue

HSBC Infrastructure Company (HICL) is to undertake a C class share issue to pay down debt and pursue new opportunities.

The investment company, which launched on to the London Stock Exchange in March 2006, has been advised by managers, HSBC Specialist Investments, to undertake the issue to provide maximum flexibility when acquiring new investments. Full details of the issue are expected be announced at the time of release of HICL's interim results on 12 November, with listing of the C shares anticipated to take place in mid-December. Collins Stewart and Oriel Securities will act as joint Placing Agents to the issue.
