Liontrust Asset Management is to launch its European Value fund next month.
The long-only Ucits III fund will be run by former GAM managers Ross Hollyman and Rob Cornish, who joined the boutique in October last year. European Value will run similar to Hollyman's former GAM Star European Systematic Value Equity fund. Cornish says the fund is likely to have 70 stocks at inception - the bottom end of its range. It can hold up to 120 positions. To filter down from its universe of 1,300 stocks, the team utilises various screens for size, trading volume, valuation, quality of earnings and share price momentum - along with a qualitative overlay.
