The CEO of Legal & General Investment Management has announced he is stepping down after five years in the role.
Peter Chambers told colleagues yesterday of his decision to retire in September, the Financial Times reports. He says he intends to spend a quiet summer with his young family and will not make any decisions over his future until the autumn. Since his appointment in November 2005, LGIM's assets under management have risen from £233bn to £315bn. Before joining LGIM, Chambers was CEO of Framlington, CIO of Gartmore, chief investment strategist at James Capel - as well as a former head of international equities at Citibank Global Asset Management.
