Former J.P Morgan manager Christopher Morrell has joined hedge fund specialist Sloane Robinson.
Morrell managed the $218.4m JPM Emerging Markets Alpha Plus fund up until his departure last month. He was replaced by Ashraf El Ansary. In his new role, Morrell is understood to be working on Sloane Robinson’s emerging markets hedge fund, Phoenicia. Sloane Robinson was estimated to have $15.1bn in assets under management in mid-2008, but by mid-2009 the figure is thought to have fallen to $3.6bn.
