Aberdeen Asia IT to pay dividend quarterly

The Aberdeen Asian Income fund has confirmed a total dividend increase of over 5% and says payments will be made quarterly from this year.

In its financial report to 31 December 2009, the investment trust, managed by Aberdeen's Singapore-based Asia Pacific equity team, also revealed diluted net asset value per ordinary share was up 27% while the share price rose by 33.8%. Some 1.35 million new shares were issued at a premium to NAV, it adds. For the last two years the net asset value outperformed the benchmark by about 10%, says the team.
