Martin Currie to bring fresh blood to Asia Sicav

Martin Currie is to hire a new manager for its $255m Asia Pacific Sicav to work alongside Jason McCay and Richard Evans.

The appointment of a new senior manager will bring the headcount of its Asian equity team to seven and is part of an ongoing period of heavy investment across the firm’s equity teams. At the same time, it will increase its global emerging markets team from four to six and hive it away from the Asian team to create a standalone division. “Currently, our GEM team is part of our Asia franchise managed by Jason McCay,” managing director, sales, marketing and client service Andy Sowerby says. “We have decided this team should be separated to give it its own identity. “As a result of ...
