Canada Life has appointed Craig Rippe as head of UK equities after a restructuring of its equity investment team.
Rippe, who joined Canada Life in 2004, manages the firm's UK equity and income funds. He previously managed income funds at Govett Investment Management. His CF Canlife High Income fund is up 0.9% this year, versus 4.1% from its peer group. The fund also lags its peers over 12 months, with a 22.5% rise behind its rivals' 30.1%. As part of reordering of its equity groups, Canada Life also appointed Mike Willans as head of international equities. Each of the positions is newly created.
