Index trackers offer exposure to carbon efficient firms

A new investment company is to offer UK and global equity funds weighted towards carbon efficient firms.

Carbon Footprint Fund plans to launch its UK 350 Equity index tracker fund in the fourth quarter. It will be followed in the new year by the Global Equity index tracker fund. Chief executive Ralph Pettengell says existing and future legislation penalises companies which are heavy carbon polluters, which will have a knock-on effect on investment. "Whatever your personal views, they are irrelevant because the world has decided to control man-made CO2 emissions," he says.
