Polar hires Calvert and EM team from Axa Framlington

William Calvert and his Axa Framlington emerging markets team are joining Polar Capital in October.

Polar is likely to launch a new product for Calvert, Axa Framlington's head of EM, and Ming Kemp and Neil Denman, upon arrival. The team will remain in charge of the Axa Framlington Emerging Markets fund for three months before it is taken over by Mark Beveridge and Irina Topa-Serry. Polar currently has equity funds focused on the UK, Japan, technology and healthcare. About $815m of its $2.5bn assets are in the technology strategy run by Ben Rogoff.
