F&C global manager Coles to join Newton

F&C Global Growth fund manager Terry Coles is joining Newton's global equities team in September.

Coles was a director in F&C's global equities team, overseeing £800m of assets. He also ran the group's £38m Global Growth fund from January 2009. Management of F&C's Global Growth fund will return to Sophie Horsfall, who ran the portfolio for seven years before Coles took over the portfolio. Horsfall also manages F&C's £306m Stewardship International portfolio. Before joining F&C, Coles was a portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley's private wealth management unit. The manager will join Newton's global equity team, which runs £13bn of assets, at the end of September.
