Billionaire investor George Soros donated $100m to Human Rights Watch, his largest ever gift to charity.
Human Rights Watch says Soros' donation, which will be spread over 10 years, is the biggest in its history and will be used to more effectively protect and promote human rights around the world. Soros, who reportedly made $1bn when the Bank of England withdrew from the exchange rate mechanism in 1992, has an estimated fortune of $12bn.
