Sarasin mulls best ideas version of Global Thematic

Sarasin is considering launching a concentrated version of its flagship £294m EquiSar Global Thematic fund, run by CIO Guy Monson and Harry Talbot Rice.

The new vehicle will use the same thematic investment approach that underpins Sarasin’s whole fund range, but will be a much more focused, best ideas-type portfolio of around 30 to 40 stocks. Monson says the fund is the next natural progression in its product development. The group also runs multi-asset, global equity income and fixed income funds. “We have one engine of thematic investing, which has lots of different fronts.
