Lazard Asset Management, a specialist in developing world equity investing, is expanding its capabilities into emerging market debt.
The group has hired a trio of managers from HSBC and it is understood to be planning to roll out EMD products across its global distribution network. Denise Simon, Arif Joshi and George Varino have recently joined Lazard after a number of years running EMD portfolios at HSBC. The team previously managed HSBC’s GIF Global Emerging Markets Bond, GIF New World Income and GIF Global Emerging Markets Local Debt funds.
