Lansdown pours £15m into his new green private equity fund

Hargreaves Lansdown co-founder Stephen Lansdown is creating a new green private equity fund.

Lansdown has already allocated £15m of his own money towards the fund, which will invest in renewable energy, such as biomass and solar power, the Sunday Times reports. "I don't like waste and I think the more we can use what we discard, particularly food and agricultural waste, to generate electricity and other by-products such as fertiliser, the better. I'm not doing it for a charitable purpose, but it's an area that deserves investment," Lansdown says.
