Gartmore is considering takeover talks with Henderson Group, according to Sky News.
The beleaguered firm is believed to be eager to agree a deal with Henderson before the end of the year. Henderson has appointed advisory firm Ondra Partners to work alongside UBS on tabling a bid for Gartmore, which put itself up for sale in November following the pending exodus of employees including star manager Roger Guy. Gartmore’s share price has jumped 7.7% to 106p following this afternoon’s reports, as at 4.45pm, while Henderson’s share price has dropped 0.4% to 130p.
