The FTSE 100 has opened slightly up, building on gains on Wall Street and positive employment news in the US.
The index is up 0.2% at 6,055.75 in early trading, bringing it close to its highest level in two-and-a-half years and following on from a small gain yesterday. ARM Holdings is up 11.37% to 525p, with the firm continuing to benefit from the increase in demand for chips for smartphones and tablets, while Rangold Resources is up 3.63% to £52.75.
