Kate Barker, a former leading member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee, has warned the UK economy could be only part way through the financial crisis. Her comments were echoed by Jerome Booth from emerging markets asset manager Ashmore, speaking at the same time, who said the UK was a ‘dead body in the kitchen.' Barker, who was a member of the MPC at the height of the financial crisis, says the country still faces an uncertain future.
