Investec Asset Management has launched two emerging markets funds investing in debt and local currencies.
As first reported by Investment Week in November, the Luxembourg-domiciled funds will be run by Peter Eerdmans, head of the firm's emerging markets debt team. The Investec GSF Emerging Markets Local Currency Dynamic Debt fund invests in a universe of debt from 23 or more liquid emerging markets. The fund can take both long and short positions, while exploiting potential returns from both bonds and local currencies.
