Asian markets are coming under pressure from high inflation, which will prompt a short-term sell-off despite economies in the region thriving, said multi-manager John Husselbee.
The North Investment Partnership chief executive said Asia's economy is still showing above average growth, but rising inflation means markets remain volatile. However, China's inflation edged down to 5.3% in April, falling from a three-year high of 5.4% reached the previous month. Husselbee said: "Asia is under pressure from increasing inflation, which is now a global issue. "Now we will see whether their central banks are ahead of the curve.
