De Mello joins Schroders as head of Asian fixed income

Former Western Asset Management bond specialist Rajeev De Mello is joining Schroders as head of Asian fixed income on 1 July.

In his role based in Singapore, De Mello will be responsible for the firm's Asia ex-Australia fixed income investment teams, covering Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Jakarta, Seoul and Taipei. Prior to joining Schroders, De Mello was country head of Singapore and senior investment officer at Legg Mason's subsidiary Western Asset Management. He was responsible for building WAM's growth in Asian local currency strategies as lead portfolio manager.
