Former Gartmore manager Cheung joins Pictet

Former Gartmore emerging market manager Anthony Cheung has joined Pictet Asset Management to work on the group's Asia total return portfolios.

Cheung will co-manage Asian long-short equity funds, reporting to Nidhi Mahurkar. Prior to his role at Gartmore as a China specialist, he worked at ABN AMRO Asset Management and Central Asset Investments in Hong Kong. Philippe de Weck, head of equities and total return at the Swiss private bank, said: "Anthony's appointment represents a significant reinforcement of our Asia long-short capabilities."
