Henderson ups stake in Liontrust

Henderson Global Investors has increased its holding in rival Liontrust Asset Management, taking its position in the asset manager to more than 11%.

Henderson bought 400,000 shares to take its stake in Liontrust to 3,922,899 shares, or 11.1%. A spokesperson said the underlying Gartmore UK and Irish Smaller Companies fund was one of the funds holding shares in Liontrust. They added the small-cap team - which also runs the £72m Henderson UK Smaller Companies fund - had made the purchase.
