Schroders, Aberdeen and JO Hambro Capital Management were the big winners in the Investment Week Fund Manager of the Year awards last night, with Schroders named Global Group of the Year and Aberdeen winning a number of awards.
Aberdeen’s Hugh Young received the Outstanding Achievement Award for the huge amount he work he has done to popularise Asian equities in the UK and create ‘a real team investment ethos.’ Young and his team won the Asia category for the Aberdeen Global Asian Smaller Companies, while Schroders' Nathan Gibbs won the Japan category for Schroder Japan Alpha Plus. James Lowen and Clive Beagles picked up the award for UK Equity Income with the JOHCM UK Equity Income fund, with the judges noting how the strategic capping of the fund had really benefitted unitholders.
