Lazard poaches Aviva's Ingham for EM fund

Alex Ingham has left Aviva Investors to join Lazard Asset Management where he will launch a small-cap emerging markets fund for retail investors.

Ingham, who ran the offshore $172.5m Aviva Investors Emerging Markets Small Cap Equity fund, will work out of Lazard's New York office. His move to Lazard brings to an end a seven-year career at Aviva Investors, the company he joined in 2004 from Aberdeen Asset Management where he had been head of North American equities. During his time at Aviva, Ingham launched the EM Small Cap Equity fund, returning 13% in the last three years and 4.5% in the last 12 months, against respective sector averages of 39.8% and 18.1%, according to Morningstar.
