Henderson to close offshore China Opps fund

Henderson is to close the offshore version of Charlie Awdry's China Opportunities fund following a redemption from a significant shareholder.

The Luxembourg-domiciled fund will close on 30 September, Henderson's fund board decided, as assets under management will fall below €5m (£4.4m) following the investor's withdrawal. At the end of July AUM stood at €6.8m. It was initially announced the fund would be merged into the Henderson Horizon China fund, run by Andrew Mattock and Caroline Maurer, at the time of Gartmore acquisition.
