GAM Star China Equity fund re-opened to investors

GAM's top performing £1.5bn GAM Star China Equity fund has been re-opened to investors less than a year after the group soft-closed it.

The Dublin-domiciled fund, launched in July 2007, is top of the China/Greater China sector over three years, outperforming peers by 67% after returning 101%. Managed by Mansfield Mok and Michael Lai, it was soft-closed in November last year after high levels of demand for the fund saw it jump in size to $1.4bn (£885m). Existing investors were still able to put money into the fund, but new investors faced some restrictions.
