F&C expands emerging market debt team

F&C has hired Peter Svoboda as a product specialist in its emerging market debt team as it continues to strengthen the unit following the departure of Helene Williamson.

Svoboda joins from Austrian financial firm Erste Group, where he has worked since 2005, and will report to Jonathan Mann, F&C’s head of emerging market debt. Mann took over as EMD head from Williamson last month when the latter joined First State to head up the company’s own newly-created emerging market debt arm. The hire of Svoboda follows the announcement that ING emerging market debt fund manager Diliana Deltcheva will also be joining F&C’s team. Deltcheva managed around $16bn in EMD assets at ING.
