Ex-New Star manager climbs ranks at JCB

Former New Star fund manager Jo Bamford has been appointed managing director of JCB Compact Products as he moves up the ranks at his father's firm.

Bamford, who worked for New Star as an assistant fund manager between 2001 and 2003, will replace Chris Spring as managing director at the JCB subsidiary on 1 November, the Times reports. He has spent the past eight years working at JCB, most recently as director JCB Groundcare. Bamford's father Anthony has been chairman of the equipment company since 1975, when he took over from his own father, JCB founder Joseph Cyril Bamford.
