IMA delays 0-35% Shares managed sector launch

The IMA has re-launched its Managed sectors with new names and definitions, apart from the Mixed Investment 0-35% Shares sector which has been delayed.

The new sectors, which replaced the Cautious, Balanced and Active Managed sectors were launched on January 1, after an extensive review of classifications throughout 2011. Last November, the IMA said its sectors would match existing ABI definitions taking on the tags Mixed Investment 20-60% Shares, Mixed Investment 40-85% Shares and Flexible Investment. The Mixed Investment 0-35% Shares group is effectively a new sector housing the lowest volatility funds. Only eight funds initially opted to move to this group resulting in a delay to the launch.
