SWIP appoints chief economist to replace Dingwall-Smith

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) has appointed Lucy O'Carroll to the position of chief economist.

O'Carroll will report to Ken Adams, head of global strategy, and will be based in the company's Edinburgh office. She joins from Llloyds Banking Group, where she has worked as senior economist, more recently focussing on detailed analysis of the eurozone crisis. She will be responsible for all aspects of SWIP's analysis of global economic developments and prospects, with particular focus on the impact they have on growth, inflation, interest rates and bond yields.
